## What is Connections by The New York Times? NYT Connections is pretty similar to a game you might have played as a child called Categories. However, instead of having a certain starting letter (like in categories), you start with 16 words on your grid. Each group has four words that share a common thread. You have to place these words into one of the four categories or groups without making four mistakes. You make a mistake when you group the wrong words in a category. Every time you guess a correct group NYT Connections will tell you which color group you guessed correctly. ## The NYT Connections Colors Each of the four groups has a color associated with it, and they each mean a slightly different thing. Yellow Simple or easy answer. Green Fairly easy to guess. Blue [...] ## To Find All The Answers If you're completely stuck, we have all of today's Connections answers. We've left this until the end, partially for suspense and also to help those who want to solve the daily puzzle themselves. Tap SEE WORD to see which of the 16 words go into which group. Again this is color-coded so you can see how difficult each group was to guess, according to The New York Times. ## What is Connections by The New York Times? ## Where to Find More Opportunities to Connect with Others Our everyday environments provide numerous opportunities to connect with others. If you feel disconnected, consider where you might focus on creating more personal bonds. Home/Family Social circles/friends Work relationships Skill-building/self-development environments Hobbies/interest-based environments Church/spiritual communities ## How to Get More From Your Connections Below are some simple tips to help you cultivate stronger, more genuine, supportive connections and the interactions that build them. [...] ## The Benefits of Interpersonal Connection Because social connection is so hard-wired into human behavior, it makes sense that our relationships (or lack thereof) significantly influence our well-being. Connections can be just as important to physical and mental health as exercise and healthy eating. Research has shown that the psychological and physical health benefits of social contact are so great that they can even outweigh the harmful effects of other risk factors and boost life expectancy. [...] # The Importance of Connections on Our Well-Being Article For centuries, philosophers and scientists have attempted to answer the question of why we're here. Some have claimed that good health or growth is our purpose, while others see it as a divine blessing or a means of passing on our genes. Yet, no matter the answer, one thing is certain: we're meant to connect with each other. It's part of our nature to build relationships. From a young age, children naturally form bonds with their parents and caregivers—and this pattern continues throughout our lives. We constantly seek companionship and support as we go through life's stages together.
- Making Things Happen: Focus and Personal Connections - Medium
In both of my startups, it was important to work hard and stay completely focused on our mission when we were in front of a screen, doing the necessary legwork to build a business. But that didn’t amount to anything unless we were able to open significant doors through the connections we had or were forging in the world. The connections allowed our companies to raise money and make quantum leaps in partnerships and sales — all necessary pieces of growth. Once we got those opportunities and received the wire transfers, it was imperative that we buckled down again, shifted back to focus mode, and delivered on our promises. [...] Sam Altman and Paul Graham have agreed that they believe that this magical combination of focus and personal connections is the way things get done, in business and in life. This certainly holds true for all the big things I’ve accomplished in my life as well as the awesome achievements I’ve observed my friends achieve. [...] Most of us have some mix of these two qualities, but we tend to slant in one particular direction. Here’s a look at the way things can play out when you’re imbalanced in one direction or the other. All Focus But No Connection I’ve worked with many clients who have mastered the focus side of the equation but really struggle to cultivate meaningful professional connections. “It just feels so disingenuine to me,” one of my clients recently said. “I don’t actually want to ask this person about their kids and how they’re doing. I don’t care. I really just care about my mission. I’m like a robot focused on my task.” Get Matt Hunter’s stories in your inbox Join Medium for free to get updates from this writer.
