Summary

National Cohesion is a multi-dimensional concept representing the unity, solidarity, and harmonious interaction between social, economic, and ethnic groups within a nation. In contemporary political discourse, commentator Tucker Carlson identifies a lack of national cohesion as a fundamental crisis in American society, attributing it to excessive prosperity, tribalism, and media control. Historically, 'National Cohesion' (Coesione Nazionale, CN) was also the name of a center-right parliamentary group in the Italian Senate, active between 2011 and 2013. This group supported the Berlusconi IV Cabinet and was primarily composed of representatives from Southern Italy. Additionally, the concept is recognized internationally as a prerequisite for social stability, economic development, and resilience against external threats, with specialized agencies like the Agence National de la Coh sion des Territoires in France dedicated to its promotion.
