This hybrid version of fascism opposes nationalism, but retains the hive mind of all totalitarian systems. Instead of “Everything within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state,” we get “Everything within our democracy, nothing outside our democracy, nothing against our democracy.” Gyno-fascism is not about defending a physical country, but rather defending an abstract idea. This is the big difference between the old masculine form of fascism and this new feminine version. The old fascists focused on the practical. They wanted to forge national unity and maintain a stable and orderly society. The gyno-fascists want to unify the people, not for the sake of prosperity, but in order to make sure everyone has dignity and respect. The definition of these goes unsaid. Like everything that comes from neoconservatism, his tract was actually a left-wing polemic dressed up as a right-wing critique of the left, but it made a useful point.
